Our Churches

The Advent Christian Conference of New Zealand is lead by David Burge and Garry Schäche. We have 5 member churches: Takanini Church of Christ, Takanini Niuean Church of Christ, Thames Church of Christ, Christian LIFE Church, and Melville International Christian Fellowship. We have a Samoan Outreach and a Prayer Fellowship Meeting in South Auckland. A growing number of individuals take an active interest in ACCONZ.

Takanini Church:

Who: David Burge (pastor)
Where: 160 Great South Road, Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand
When: Sundays at 10:00am

What: We are a Bible-based church that worships with a mixture of hymns and contemporary songs. Home schooling and hospitality characterize our ministry.

Takanini Niuean Church:

Who: John Vilisoni (pastor)
Where: 160 Great South Road, Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand
When: Sundays at 12:30pm (Service is in Niuean language).

What: Niue is a small island in the South Pacific Ocean, to the east of Tonga. Population 2100. At least 18000 Niueans live in NZ (half of those live in Auckland). Pastor John leads the service, in the Niuean language, at 12:30 on Sunday afternoons.

Thames Church:

Who: Gavin and Alison McIntosh (pastors)
Where: 415 Parawai Road, Thames, New Zealand
When: Sundays at 10:30am

What: The church in Thames is small but the fellowship is warm. Special services at Christmas & Easter are reaching the community and providing opportunity to fellowship with people from our Auckland and Hamilton churches.

Christian LIFE Church:

Who: David Burge (pastor)
Where: 160 Great South Road, Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand
When: Tuesdays at 7:30pm (Supper beforehand)

What: We are a relaxed and informal 'home-group' styled church. We meet in a lounge at the back of the church for worship, Bible study and discussion. In 2004 CLC started a new outreach called the Anazao Drop in. Anazao means, “to live again” (See Luke 15:32). People drop in on Thursdays for a chat, perhaps over lunch. Christian LIFE Church takes one Tuesday in six to be a South Auckland ACMissioNZ Prayer Meeting.

Melville International Christian Fellowship:

Who: Jan McMechan (host)
Where: Jan's home in Hamilton (Contact us for more details).
When: Sundays at 7:00pm (This is a House Church).

What: God is doing a wonderful work through Jan. As well as Sunday evening services Jan in involved in Bible In Schools and has run children’s programs in her home during the week.

Samoan Outreach:

Who: Peni (Benny) Leota (pastor)
Where: At Takanini Church or Benny's home (Contact us for more details)
When: Sundays at 3:00pm (Service is in Samoan language).

Prayer Fellowship:

Who: Hosted by David Burge and Garry Schäche.
Where: 160 Great South Road, Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand. (from time to time we gather in Thames and Hamilton - check venue with Dave or Garry)
When: First Sunday of the month at 7:30pm.

What: We pray for all of the work and ministries of ACCONZ. We believe that prayer is an important part of our ministry. Please join us.

Mardon Road Church of Christ:

The Hamilton Church of Christ though not formally affiliated to ACCONZ is a kindred spirit. David Burge works one day a week with the Church doing Bible teaching and visitation. Pray for evangelistic opportunities here also.
